One important distinction regarding Antrhopic / Claude versus some AI companies, perhaps OpenAi i/ ChatGPT s that Anthropic’s mission is to use artificial intelligence for the benefit of humanity, whereas OpenAI’s mission appears to be more focused on benefitng their Shareholders.

Claude is built to be helpful, harmless, and honest. In other words, Claude is trained to align with human values and operate transparently.

Claude’s capabilities include being conversational, but not in the sense of a chatbot, it’s far more. I can process various forms of digital and paper based data while maintaining a high standard of predictability, reliability, and accuracy. Claude is efficient at in tasks like summarization, search, creative/collaborative writing, Q & A, and coding to name a few.

Claude is built to be steerable and collaborative. It can be customized and directed on personality, tone, and behavior.

  • Claude can help with complex thinking, math, strategy, and research.
  • Models like Opus and Sonnet support quick answers when you need speed, and an “extended thinking” mode when you want a more careful, step-by-step approach.
  • Explore the unknown

Ways to access Claude

Claude is the same intelligence across a few different “front doors.” The best one depends on what you are trying to do.

This is the main place most people start.

  • It is the primary focus in this course.

Great for teams that live in Slack.

  • Debug formulas
  • Update templates across tabs
